Driver lands Dravid endorsement deal with watch co.

New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) After landing yet another lucrative endorsement with a watch company, a grateful Rahul Dravid today thanked the chauffer of the head honcho for helping him land the deal.

Dravid today joined Kareena Kapoor as the new brand ambassador of Citize watch.

Explaining the reason behind roping in the Team India captain to promote the sports watch, Hideaki Nakazaki, managing director of Citizen Watches India, revealed it was his driver back in Bangalore who started it all.

''Rahul's home is just 300m away from my Bangalore office and everytime my driver would take the route passing by the house. And whenever we passes by, he would say ''This is Rahul Dravid's house and he is our natiuonal hero.'' ''And every morning, I would be listening the same thing about Rahul from him and that's how I got attracted to him. Otherwise, for we the Japanese, baseball is a bigger game than cricket,'' Mr Nakazaki said, as Dravid, sitting to his left, was all ears and amused.

''Since then, I studied Rahul's background and was impressed by his leadership quality. He's trendy and smart -- something which perfectly fits our brand,'' he said.

On his part, Dravid said, ''I think I should start by thanking the driver (who helped me get the deal).'' Dravid was gifted three watches, one from the Rahul Dravid Collecion, by the MD on the occasion.
