Communist party leader passes away
Vijayawada, May 8 : Senior Communist Party of India (CPI)leader K Devasundara Rao died at his residence here last evening, according to his family sources.
He was 77. He is survived by two sons.
Mr Rao worked for the uplift of agricultural workers throughout his life and participated in several agitations.
He served the party as a state council member.He had also contested unsuccessfully for an assembly seat from Nidumolu constitutency in 1977.
He was cremated after the body was taken in a procession from his residence at Moghalrajapuram to the cremation ground this morning.
Prominent leaders, including All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) vice-president K Nageswara Rao, CPI state executive member E Nageswara Rao, Andhra Pradesh Mahila Samakhya Honorary President Chandra Rajakumari, besides others.
