Bureaucracy reluctant to implement orders:JD(S) MLC

Bangalore, May 08(UNI) The Janata Dal (Secular) member in the Karnataka State Legislative Council K S Puttanna today alleged that the top officials in the Finance department were reluctant to implement the government orders on various issues and demanded punitive action against those responsible.

Talking to newsmen here he referred to the government order on sanctioning Rs.200 per month as special allowance to teachers working in primary, high school and pre-university colleges and said that the Finance Department had released the amount only for primary school teachers, ignoring teachers in high schools and pre university colleges.

He said that both Chief Minister Mr H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa have agreed to extend the special allowance to High school and Pre-university teachers.

Demanding the state government to release the special allowance to high school and Pre-university teachers also Mr Puttanna has threatened that if money was not released within one week the teachers would resort to agitation throughout the state. He also urged the state government to take punitive actions against those officials who were responsible for not honouring the state government's order on the issue.
