Amar Singh's sibling among 13 detained

Varanasi, May 8 (UNI) As many as 13 people including the brother of Samajwadi Party MP Amar Singh were detained while trying to hold a meeting in violation of prohibitory orders in the neighbouring Azamgarh district.

Azamgarh police superintendent Navin Arora told UNI over phone that Congress leader Arvind Singh, - the sibling of Uttar Pradesh Development Corporation (UPDC) chairperson Amar Singh - was detained for trying to hold a meeting in Lalganj over a dispute concerning a graveyard land.

Those detained were, however, later freed, Mr Arora added.
