ACB traps officer in AP
Hyderabad, May 8 (UNI) An Extension Officer (Panchayat Raj&rural Development), in Nakkapalli Mandal of Visakhapatnam district was trapped today by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 500 from a widow for sanctioning pension.
According to an ACB release, Trinadna Gopala Krishna had taken bribe from Dyiapalli Chinathalli, a widow with 5 children, through Gosala Kasi Rao, sarpanch of Bangarampeta Village. He had kept pending with him the application for Widow Pension from the end of 2005.
The chemical test conducted on the accused was proved positive on his righthands fingers, and on the linings of his right side pant pocket, the release said.
The accused officer was arrested and would be produced before the III Additional District and Sessions Judge cum Special Judge, Visakhapatnam, it added.
