60 explosives recovered in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, May 8 (UNI) Panic gripped the Kavinagar Industrial Area here today after about 60 missile shells were recovered by the police in a steel factory.

The police and the bomb disposal squad have seized the explosives and arrested Vivek Luthra, one of the partners of the factory.

Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Mordia said a raid was conducted at Shanker Steel Factory in Kavinagar following a tip off.

Mr Mordia said the explosives, which included live bombs were being examined by the police and the bomb disposal squad.

Last year, ten people had died and a dozen were injured in an explosion in the Bhushan Steel factory here. Police are still investigating the matter.
