20 Per cent electorate cast votes in Pondy

Pondicherry, May 8 (UNI) About 20 per cent of the electorate cast their votes in the first two hours of the second and final phase of polling to the Territorial Assembly today.

Polling has been peaceful so far. Twenty-one constituencies in Pondicherry and six in Karaikal regions are in the final phase of polls, which will decide the fate of 199 candidates, including three former Chief Ministers and Puducherry Munnetra Congress Founder President P Kannan.

Polling in Mahe, Pallour and Yanam constituencies were held in the first phase on May three.
