2 moderate quakes jolt Indonesia

New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) Two earthquakes of moderate intensity struck Indonesia today.

While the first quake, measuring 5 on the Richter Scale occurred at 0714 hrs, the second measuring 5.5 occurred at 1447 hrs, an India Meteorological Department statement said here.

The first was epicentred in Northern Sumatra whereas the second near the West coast in Southern Sumatra.
