Woman kills 3 children before commiting suicide

Tiruchirapalli, May 7 : A mentally-deranged woman killed her three children by pushing them into a well and later committed suicide in a similar manner at Valaieduppu village, under Thathaingarpet police limits in the district, last evening.

Police said the deceased were identified as Nandini(25), her children Dinesh (4), Deepika(2.1/2), Chithra(six month old). While the bodies of three children were fished out by the police, the body of Nandini was yet to be recovered.

The reason for the extreme step taken by Nandini, was not known.

A case has been registered and an investigation, was underway, police added.
