Two priests arrested in robbery case
Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) Two Jain temple priests have been arrested by the police robbery charges in Borivali in the western suburbs.
Investigating officer (IO) Pradip More said here today that on May 3, jewellery and cash worth Rs 12 lakh offered by the devotees to the Jain Mandir located off Mankeshwar road in Borivali, was robbed. Trustees had lodged a complaint with the Borivali police station.
Police called the priest of temple Pravin Rathod for questioning.
During the interrogation, Rathod admitted that he had committed the theft with the help of a friend and another priest Vijay Rathod of Jain mandir at Dahisar, after making a duplicate key of the temple.
Both Pravin Rathod and Vijay Rathod were arrested yesterday.
Jewellery and cash was recovered from their possession, he added.
