BAGHDAD, May 7 (Reuters) Two car bombs exploded in Baghdad toay killing at least nine people and wounding 20, police sources said.

The first-triggered by a suicide attacker- exploded in Baghdad's Aadhamiya district, targeting an Iraqi army patrol in a busy street, killing eight people and wounding 15. The second detonated near a major intersection killing one civilian and wounding five.

Iraqi politicians say they are on the verge of forming Iraq's first full-term government which many Iraqis hope can begin to quell the growing violence.

Police sources said 42 bodies were found in the last 24 hours, including eight found dumped near Kindi hospital in central Baghdad. The figure is in line with levels of violence seen in recent months in the capital.

Sectarian violence sparked by the February 22 bombing of a Shi'ite shrine has led to the discoveries of bodies some showing signs of torture on a frequent basis.
