Tension at police station

Pondicherry,May 7(UNI)Tension prevailed at Odeansaalai here today as police resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse a mob which came to the police station.

According to police a Congress activist Rajkumar came to the Odeansaalai police station to lodge a complaint of attack on him by AIADMK workers.Police assured action after proper investigation.

In the meantime,Ouppalam DMK candidate U C Arumugham along with his supporters came to the station and insisted that police take immediate action and entered into an argument with the police. This forced them to resort to lathi charge.

Meanwhile,AIADMK Ouppalam candidate Anbazhagan also preferred a complaint with the police that the DMK workers had allegedly assaulted an Independent candidate Aruldas.
