'One held for bribing voters'

Pondicherry, May 7 (UNI) One person was arrested on charges of distributing money to voters at Bahour near here late last night.

According to election department sources, the control room of election department received information that a youth was distributing money. Police and revenue officals rushed to the spot and caught him redhanded while distributing money along with booth slips. Police also seized an amount of Rs 44,400 from Sankaranarayanan of Pillayarkuppam when he was distributing the money in support of Bahour Congress candidate M.Kandasamy, Meanwhile, cases were registered against two Independent candidates for not filing their election expenditure with the election department.
