Mayor for memorial for Mahajan in Thane

Thane, May 7 (UNI) Mayor Rajan Vichare today said a memorial will be set up in the city as a tribute to late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.

Mr Vichare was speaking at an all party condolence meeting organised in the city last night to pay tributes to Late BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan.

Speakers from the Congress, NCP, RPI, Shiv Sena and BJP paid rich tributes to Mahajan and recalled his contribution towards the State and the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Thane MP Prasad Paranjpe pleaded to the Thane Municipal Corporation to set up an high-tech IT institute in memory of Mr Mahajan.

Prominent among those who attended the meeting include Thane MLA Eknath Shinde, MLS Anant Tare, RSS Leader Shriram Patwardhan, RPI President Sunil Khambe, NCP Leader Ashok Raole, Satish Pradhan, BJP Leader Sanjay Kelkar, MLA Hemendra Etha and Chief of Rambhao Malji Probodhini Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.

The speakers stressed that following the principles and completing the incomplete work of Mahajan will be the real tribute to him.
