Five taken ill after consuming stale food

Phagwara, May 7: Five members of a labourer's family fell ill after taking dinner at Nangal Majha village last night, police today said.

All the ill were admitted to the local civil hospital in unconscious condition.

According to police reports, Tej Pal, his wife Kali, daughter Kamlesh and sons Parveen Kumar and Vinod Kumar took food at their residence and fell ill soon after.

Senior Medical Officer Dr Yash Mitra said the condition of the five was stable. Dr Mitra said it was a case of food poisoning as the family members had consumed stale food.
