Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) India's young gun, Ashok Kumar, whose amateur career ran parallel to Shiv Kapur's, will be hoping to strike it big on home turf as he gets ready for the 400,000 dollar Aamby valley Asian Masters beginning this Thursday in Lonavla, near Mumbai.

Ashok won the TSM Golden Greens Open last week and also finished on top of the money list in his second year on Tour.

''I am in good form and hopefully I can do well in Aamby Valley,'' said Kumar after his win at Golden Greens.

Kumar had got a couple of top-10 finishes on Asian Tour, but has not been consistent. ''I am planning to attend the David Leadbetter Academy next month and hopefully I shall learn a lot from that but for the present the focus is Aamby Valley Asian masters,'' he said few days back.

Ashok is among many of Asia's upcoming talents like Chapchai Nirat of Thailand, Gerald Rosales of the Philippines, American Ron Won, and Aussie duo Gavin Flint and Brad Kennedy who are hunting for their maiden Asian Tour success.
