Adequate financial assistance for Nanded development: Montek
Nanded, Maharashtra, May 7 (UNI) Planning Commission Vice President Montek Singh Ahluwalia today assured the adequate financial assistance to carry out various developmental works in the city here.
After visiting the Gurudwara and attending a review meeting, Mr Ahluwalia told in a news conference that the developmental works carried out in the city in view of the tri-centenary celebrations of 'Guru-Ta-Gaddi', would be provided with the adequate financial assistance by the Centre.
He informed that Nanded city had been figured in the list of 63 cities, where development would be undertaken under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Development scheme.
A final review meeting would be held in February 7 next year, to ensure completion of various developmental works, before the tri-centenary celebrations, expected to be attended by 25 lakh devotees across the globe.
Minister in PMO office Prithviraj Chavan, Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashok Chavan, and Director General of Police Dr P S Pasricha were present at the conference.
