4 killed, 3 hurt in collision

Vellore, Tamil Nadu, May 7 (UNI) Four persons, including a woman, were killed on the spot and three women injured when their car collided head-on with a lorry at Veppur near Arcot, on the Vellore- Bangalore Bypass Road, near here, today.

Police here identified the deceased as Sathyanarayanan (40), Banu Priya (25), Santhosh (10) and driver Sudharshanam, all hailing from Vaniyambadi.

The victims were proceeding to Chennai to attend a function when the accident occurred.

Malathi, Bhuvaneswari and Padmavathi, the injured, have been admitted to the Government Headquarters Hospital here.
