4 children dead in accident

Kanpur, May 7 (UNI) Four children were crushed to death and another injured seriously by a speeding jeep while they were crossing a road near Brahmdev temple in Maharajpur area here today.

Police said Anuj, Inder, Tun Tun and Chandan died on the spot, while the injured, Bunel, was admitted to hospital in a critical condition.

All the victims hail from Nawada district in Bihar and belong in the age group of 9-12 years. The children were working in a brick kiln.

The vehicle had been impounded and bodies sent for autopsy.
