VCF announces awards for 2006

Machilipatnam, May 6: The Viswadatha Cultural Foundation (VCF) today announced awards in various fields for the year 2006.

Freedom fighter Vemula Palli Vamana Rao, R Krishna Prasad, editor-in-charge of Vijayawada Andhra Jothi, T Rajendhar Prasad, writer and journalist and artist V Chandar Sheker had been selected for the awards.

According to Kashinadhuni Nageswara Rao, foundation secretary, Sistu Prabhakar Krishna Murthi Sasthri and P Sambasiva Rao had also been selected for outstanding service in music and education.

The awards had been instituted in memory of late Kasinadhuni Nageswara Rao Panthulu, the founder of Andhra Pathrika. The award function would be held on May 9 at Elakurru, he added.
