SSB jawans attack bus driver, conductor with dagger

Bahraich, May 6 (UNI) Angered over a minor issue, a group of Shashastra Suraksha Bal (SSB) jawans today inflicted severe wounds to a roadways bus driver and conductor in the district.

Later, the enraged jawans also damaged the bus.

Police said the bus was coming to Lucknow when about 12 SSB jawans boarded it at Bahraich.

They allegedly picked up a quarrel with bus staff over keeping of their luggage, even as one of the jawans attacked the driver and conductor.

Two of the jawans were also assaulted by roadways employees.

However, senior police officials saved the situation from turning ugly.

The condition of the driver was said to be serious, while roadways buses were not plying after the incident.
