Rohtang Pass opened for light vehicles

Shimla, May 6 (UNI) The 13050-foot-high Rohtang Pass in Himachal Pradesh has been opened for light vehicles after remaining cut off with the rest of the state for about four months, Lahaul-Spiti Deputy Commissioner R Salvem said today.

The first light vehicle crossed the Pass last evening.

Mr Salvem said vehicular traffic on the Pass was closed on January two this year after heavy snowfall.

Work for restoring vehicular traffic on roads towards Leh, Kaza and Baralacha Pass was also on, he added.
