Parliamentarians pay tribute to Motilal Nehru
New Delhi, May 6 : Rich floral tributes were paid to Pandit Motilal Nehru on his 145th birth anniversary in the Central Hall of Parliament House here today.
Mr B K Handique, Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs paid floral tributes at the portrait of the great statesman and dedicated freedom fighter.
Among others who paid tributes to the great parliamentarian, were Motilal Vora, Dr Chinta Mohan and Ms Nirmala Deshpande, the Members of Parliament and former MP M L Fotedar.
Mr P D T Achary and Dr Yogendra Narain, Secretaries-General of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha respectively also paid floral tributes at the portrait of the great orator.
In recognition of the services rendered by Pandit Nehru to the nation, his portrait was unveiled by the then President of India, Dr Rajendra Prasad in the Central Hall of Parliament House on March 30, 1957, a Lok Sabha Secretariat release here said.
