Judgement in Parshidhi rape case deferred
Purulia, May 6 (UNI) The judgement in the Parshidih rape case has been deferred to May 12, as the accused, Mr Bir Singh Mahat, MP of Forward Block did not turn up in Purulia court today.
The Additional session judge of Purulia court, Mr Subhash Chatterjee announced this today.
According to Mr Arup Bhattacharya, lawyer of the accused, ''Mr Bir Singh Mahato is now busy in election campaigns in North Bengal, therefore he sent a fax message this morning.'' Mr Mahat and four other persons were allegedly involved in the gang rape of Mrs Renubala Bhagat, a villager of Parshidih in Bagnundih of Purulia on November 20, 1982.
