Join the Round Table conference, Mufti to separatists

Keller, South Kashmir, May 6, (UNI) Appealing to separatists to join the second round of Round Table conference on Kashmir, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has said the situation is ripe for some major initiatives on the issue.

Mr Sayeed, the Patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a partner in the coalition government, expressed the hope that all the parties including separatist groups would participate in the Conference being held here later this month and contribute towards the peaceful resolution of Kashmir problem.

Addressing a series of day-long public meetings, Mr Sayeed said militants must also acknowledge the public mood and must come forward and cooperate in the stabilisation of the peace process.

Saying that development and prosperity is sub-survient to peace, Mr Sayeed has appealed to people to extent fullest cooperation in sowing the seeds of peace to bring about development and prosperity for long lasting peace in the state.

Responding to the public demands and problems projected by the people during the tour, Mr Sayeed said the problems would be solved by taking effective measures to augment water supply at the needy places.

He said several link roads in the area have also been included in the Asian Development Bank scheme costing Rs 22 crore.
