Fire breaks out in Kamrhati Jute Mill

Barrackpore, May 6: A devastating fire broke out in the Kamarhati Jute mill in North 24 Paraganas today.

Fire brigade sources said eleven fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames, which had been raging for more than three hours, on jute bails stacked in a godown.

Sources said though the fire has been brought under control, it has not been extinguished yet.

There was no report of any casualty so far, the sources said adding the reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
