Employees stir affects govt offices

Imphal, May 6: The indefinite cease work launched by the Joint Administrative Council(JAC) of All Manipur Employees Organisation (AMTUC) and All India Trade Union Congress(AITUC) entered the 17th day today.

The employees said they were attending offices but not doing any official work.

They are demanded hike in pay and allowances, rectification of pay anomaly and raising the retirement age to 60 from 58.

They are also demanding that services of ad hoc employees be regularised. Those working in the essential services will also join the stir they said, adding work in almost all government offices and engineering departments was also affected.
