Campaigning for bypoll to the Deeg Assembly seat ends
Bharatpur, May 6: Campaigning for bypoll to the Deeg Assembly seat ended today.
The May 8 bypoll was necessitated by the death of legislator Arun Singh.
BJP's Divya Singh, a scion of the royal family of Bharatpur, is pitted against two-time sarpanch and Congress candidate Laxman Singh.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia campaigned for Ms Singh while former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh canvassed for Laxman Singh.
However, although both the parties have made all-out efforts to woo the voters, there is no clear indication of which side the tide will turn.
In Deeg, dominated by Gujjar, Jat and Muslims, the fight seems to be between the palace and farmers.
