CM won in Budhni, not the BJP candidate: Patel
Sehore, MP, May 6 (UNI) Congress candidate Rajkumar Patel, who lost the by-election to Budhni assembly constituency, today claimed that the Chief Minister had emerged victorious from the seat and not the BJP candidate.
Describing the verdict of electorate as supreme, Mr Patel alleged that the state administrative machinery was grossly misused for campaigning.
''The Chief Minister's chair was made the poll plank in Budhni,'' he claimed.
Mr Patel reached at the counting centre during last moments and left as soon as the election officer declared the verdict. He stopped for a while to congratulate Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan when he saw his cavalcade arriving.
Both Mr Chouhan and Mr Patel had garnered votes from their respective villages. Mr Chouhan polled 634 votes in his native Jait village, while Mr Patel bagged 1,239 votes in his native Baktara village.
