3 cops dismissed for assaulting SP

Lucknow, May 6 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Police today dismissed from service three police officers, including an inspector, for attacking the then Farrukhabad police superintendent Rahul Asthana recently.

Those dismissed include inspector Narsingh Pal and sub inspectors Anand Kumar Singh and Rajesh Singh.

Meanwhile, similar proceedings were also being initiated against constable Lallu Singh.

The termination decision was taken after an inquiry report in the incident was submitted by Kanpur DIG Daljit Singh to the state Director General of Police.

The report had indicted the trio for beating up Mr Ashthana at his camp office, which it termed as an act of utter indiscipline in the police force.
