Two candidates arrested for road block in Pondy

Pondicherry, May 5 (UNI) Police today arrested candidates of the Congress and the AIADMK from the Ozhukarai constituency in connection with road blockade on Wednesday.

According to police, Congress candidate A Namasivayam and the AIADMK candidate K Natarajan were arrested and released on station bail.

Workers of the AIADMK were assaulted on May three allegedly by the Congress volunteers. Protesting against the attack, Natarajan resorted to a road blockade.

Meanwhile, Natarajan's son, Saravanan was attacked by a 10-member gang yesterday, following which security was provided to both, Mr Natarajan and Mr Namasivayam.
