Tihar Jailbreak case solved: Police

New Delhi, May 5 (UNI) Six persons, including the man who masterminded the escape 12 inmates of Tihar jail on July 6 last, have been arrested from Mangolpuri here, Delhi police said today.

Babu Khan -- who had scaled the walls of the high security jail with 12 others last year -- was in a park in Mongolpuri with his gang members planning a dacoity early yesterday when police raided the place following a tip off.

A country-made pistol, two live cartridges, six daggers and nylon ropes were recovered from them.

The five others arrested with him were identified as Kabir, Allamin, Mohd Nasir, Abdul Hassan and Kokhan, all residents of Delhi and Noida.

They were wanted in connection with a spate of robberies for copper and brass in the industrial areas of the city, police said.
