Prisoners stab policemen, escape

Hajipur, May 5 (UNI) Six undertrials escaped today from police custody after stabbing two policemen.

The incident occurred while they were being escorted by the police to court for production before a magistrate.

Sub-divisional police officer Anil Kumar said the criminals stabbed two policemen causing serious injuries and managed to escape from the court premises.

A seriously injured constable, Ram Kumar Singh, had been shifted to Patna Medical College and Hospital while Brijkishore Prasad is undergoing treatment at the Hajipur civil hospital, Mr Kumar added.
