'Mercury rising' in MP
Bhopal, May 5 (UNI) With almost entire Madhya Pradesh witnessing scorching heat for the past week, the mercury has crossed the 45 degrees Celsius mark at several stations.
Badwani was the hottest with the temperature touching a blistering 47 C. The world-renowned tourist spot Khajuraho recorded 44.8 C, Hoshangabad 44.7, Sheopur 45.5, Gwalior 45 and Indore 43.6 C. Day temperature here was 43.4 C, three notches above normal.
On May 5, 2005, the maximum in Madhya Pradesh was 36.5 C.
The weather centre said that thundershowers were likely at some places in Jabalpur, Sagar and Rewa divisions over the next 24 hours.
