New Delhi, May 5 (UNI) BCCI today expressed confidence of hosting the final of the 2011 World Cup in India.

Talking to reporters here today, senior BCCI official IS Bindra, said going by rotation, India should host the final.

''There is a rotation policy and after India hosted it in 1987, the 1996 final was played in Pakistan. Going by the same principle (India should host the final).'' Mr Bindra represented the Asian bloc in the International Cricket Council and the bid by India, Pakistan Sri Lanka and Bangladesh beat a joint Australia-New Zealand bid to bag the event.

''Anyway, we don't want any public debate on the venue for the final. Everything will be discussed when all four boards attend the first meeting,'' the former BCCI President said.

''We would have our first meeting by June because we don't have much time left. It may seem that it's still five years away, but there are so much to do and you never know when time runs out.'' BCCI President Sharad Pawar too seemed confident that Pakistan won't object to that.

''In fact, Pakistan and our colleagues in other cricket boards said the BCCI President should lead the organising committee for the event. But we are waiting for our first meeting where everything will be finalised,'' he said.
