Govt to take action against polluting industries

Ranchi, May 5 (UNI) The Jharkhand government today said it will take necessary action in accordance with law against the industries which are polluting the Damodar river.

The state pollution control board gave this assurance following a high court direction to file report by June 16 after making inquiry about the effluent thrown into the river by the industries.

A division bench of Jharkhand high court comprising chief justice N Dinakar, and justice S J Mukhopadhyaya further directed ther board to earmark the government industries such as BCCL, CCL, Patratu thermal power station, Chandrapura thermal power and Bokaro thermal power station.

JSPCB chairman Tileswar Sahu assured the court of taking action action as per law.
