DPA will have landslide win, claims Cong leader
Pondicherry, May 5 (UNI) All India Congress Committee general secretary V Narayanasamy, MP, today claimed the Democratic Progressive Alliance would register a landslide victory in the May 8 Assembly elections and a Congress-led government would be formed here.
Adressing a press meet here, Mr Narayansamy said he, along with leaders of DPA allies, were campaigning in Karaikal since April 27 and in Pondicherry region later the mood of the people was in favour of the DPA, he said adding, the performance of the five-year Congress government had been highlighted.
He sought the mandate of the people to make Pondicherry a mini-Singapore.
He also claimed that the party had information that the opposition was making efforts to indulge in violence on polling day to scare away the people and this was informed to the police and the election department. On the seizure of money to be distributed to voters by a DMK candidate, he said that it was the duty of the police and election department to punish the guilty after proper investigation.
