Daljit Bittu's judicial remand extended by 14 days
Barnala, May 5 (UNI) A local court today extended the judicial remand of Shiromani Khalsa Dal president Daljit Singh Bittu, in a sedition case, up to May 19.
Mr Bittu, who had been arrested last month from his Ludhiana residence, was today presented in the court of Civil Judge Ajaib Singh following the expiry of his earlier judicial remand.
The Shiromani Khalsa Dal chief was arrested in the sedition case following his visit to Fatehgarh Chhanna village in Sangrur district where he joined the agitating farmers against the acquisition of their land by the Trident Group of Industries. He had then showed a documentary film on Punjab to the villagers. The Punjab police has taken a strong exception to the screening of the film which became one of the basis for his arrest.
