Budhni vote count tomorrow

Bhopal, May 5: Counting of votes for the Assembly byelection in Madhya Pradesh's Budhni constituency, held on May 3, will take place at Sehore from 0800 hrs tomorrow.

Nearly 64.60 percent of the 1.74 lakh electorate exercised their franchise through EVMs at 189 booths.

According to state election office sources, a total of 1,12,889 voters, including 65,944 male and 46,945 females, cast their votes to decide the political fate of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan (BJP), Mr Rajkumar Patel(Congress), Mr Gulzar Singh Markam (Gondwana Gantantra Party) and Mr Narmada Prasad Yadav (Samajwadi Party), besides 12 independents.

The Budhni seat fell vacant after Mr Rajendra Singh(BJP) resigned to pave way for Mr Chouhan's entry into the Vidhan Sabha.
