Mumbai, May 5 (UNI) Republican Party of India (A) President Ramdas Athavale today advocated caste-based reservations for all castes .

Talking to reporters here, Mr Athavale said such caste-based reservations will end the current debate of having reservations for the weaker sections of the society.

He said RPI workers would organise programmes to support Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh's proposal for reservations in higher and technical institutions.

These programmes would be organised on May 15 at taluka and district level. He also demanded that the economically backward class weaker sections of the upper castes and muslims should also be given ten per cent reservations.

Mr Athavale said he would call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar to discuss these issues.
