MCX index closes 11.63 pts down at 2,383.26

Mumbai, May 4 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded a turnover of Rs 3,086.28 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at Rs 2,383.26 down by 11.63 points (-0.49 per cent). MCX has recorded a turnover of Rs 3,086.28 crore while the total trades registered were 47,105.

The MCX metal index was down by 5.88 points (-0.21 per cent), while its agri index was up by 9.38 points (0.57 per cent). MCX energy index was down by 38.40 points (1.41 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 2,145.16 crore, including various MCX gold Rs 1,144 crore and MCX silver Rs 1,001.16 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 26,137. The open interest for gold was 9,527 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 3,09,110 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 345.38 crore with 7,433 trades, while in the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 93.25 crore with open interest of 7,15,700 BBL.

Turnover of some of the major pulses traded on the MCX were as follows - urad registered a turnover of Rs 72.31 crore with 1,082 trades, chana registered a turnover of Rs 42.02 crore with 1,181 trades, tur recorded a turnover of Rs 10.84 crore with 481 trades while masur registered a turnover of Rs 17.41 crore with 690 trades.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 32.29 crore with 1,214 trades while mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 18.69 crore with 1,015 trades.
