Man charged with murder over London arson attacks

LONDON, May 4 (Reuters) Police today charged an unemployed 32-year-old man with the murder of two people in a fire bomb attack at their south London shop.

Robert Torto, of Stockwell Park Road, south London, will appear at Greenwich Magistrates' Court later today, also charged with three counts of arson.

Khizer Hayat, a Kashmiri man in his late 40s, died on April 27 after he was unable to escape from his blazing store in Clapham Road.

Hamidullah Hamidi, 31, an Afghan national, died yesterday from injuries from the same attack.

Their shop was the third store to be hit by an arson attack in south London last month. Police had said they believed the attacks to be linked.
