Jaya condoles Mahajan's death

Chennai, May 4 (UNI) AIADMK General Secretary and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today expressed grief over the demise of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.

In a condolence message here, she said Mr Mahajan was a charismatic and dynamic leader, who represented the generation next of the BJP.

''He was a magnetic personality, a powerful orator, consummate organiser and negotiator, who galvanised the youth in his party. He rose to hold several important positions both in the pary and in the Union Government at a very young age,'' she remarked.

Ms Jayalalithaa said Mr Mahajan was well read and was one of the talented, well informed youthful voices to be heard in Parliament contributing significantly to the quality of parliamentary debate.

His untimely death in tragic circumstances leaves behind a void not only in the BJP but also in the Indian political firmament.

''I wish to convey my heartfelt condolences to his family, I pray to the Almighty to give them the strength to face this cruel tragedy,'' she added.
