Instrument to screen diabetic complication
Kochi, May 4 : The Indian subsidiary of a US-based company has developed an instrument, claimed to be a pioneering attempt in the world, to help early screening of a major diabetes complication called Diabetic Autonomic Neuropathy(DAN).
The Chennai-based DyAnsys has designed the product named ANSiscope' and made it available in South India, said company CEO Srini Nageshwar at a press conference here yesterday.
He said the company would later launch the product in other parts of the country before entering Europe by the end of this year and the American markets by next year.
The instrument was the result of a five-year research and uniquely applied mathematics and medicine. It recently won prestigious Frost and Sullivan Award for product innovation of the year in healthcare, he said.
The instrument was indigenously made and was tested in many places, including Geneva to make it feasible for Indian customers, Mr Nageshwar said.
