More Hmar refugees expected from Manipur

Aizawl, May 04 : Hmar people from Parbung village in Manipur are readying themselves to flee to Mizoram, a report reaching here today said.

The report stated that the villagers from Damdiai, who had fled to Parbung in fear of Manipuri insurgents, had returned to their village to collect their belongings in a bid to come to Mizoram.

The report further stated that the three youths, who had disappeared while cutting timber are still missing and that their relatives are at their wits' end on how to locate them.

A search party headed by security froces had failed to locate their whereabouts.

About 200 Damdiai villagers had fled to Parbung village, where security forces have made a camp following the physical assault of the village crier by militants.
