Heatwave claims 3 lives in UP

Lucknow, May 4 (UNI) At least three people were reported dead in the last 24 hrs in Uttar Pradesh due to the intense heatwave conditions prevailing for the last several days.

The fresh deaths were reported from Mahoba, Hamirpur and Agra districts. So far, seven people have died of heatwave in the state.

According to met office, Kanpur, Jhansi and Allahabad recorded the maximum temperature of 43 degree Celsius.

However, the mercury remained below normal levels in Gorakhpur and Varanasi divisions.

The weather remained mainly dry in the last 24 hrs, the weatherman said.

Inhabitants of Bundelkhand region are facing a lot of hardships due to heatwave and water bodies going dry.

In the next 24 hrs, some places might experience low intensity storm and thunder shower/rainfall.
