Election committee seizes rice

Pondicherry,may 4(UNI)Election monitoring committee and police today seized rice bags meant for free distribution to voters from a house at Thiruvandarkovil near here.

According to an offical press release here, on a tip off, the officals along with Villianur Tashildar raided the house of one Sridhar and found 17 bags containing 25 kg of rice each besides one 50 kg bag.

The officals seized the rice and preferred a complaint with police who registered a caseagainst Sridhar.

Similarly, the officials seized five bags containing five kg of rice each from Kalapet Village.
