Beleaguered ASDC faces another split
Diphu, May 04 (UNI) The Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) is facing yet another split with estranged party leaders and party MLAs Dharamsing Teron, Jogotsing Ingti and MACs Jotson Bey and Elwin Teron announcing the split.
Addressing a news conference here today, these leaders said, " The new party will be more vigorous and capable of fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Karbi Anglong. " They also said permanent solution to the vexed ultra problem would be the main agenda of the party.
The leaders categorically remarked that Sixth Schedule was ineffective in Karbi Anglong and solution to the problem within the parameter of the Schedule seemed incongruent.
The leaders had made vitriolic attack against the present leadership of Holiram Terang and Chomang Kro and squarely blamed them for the declining popularity of the ASDC amid common people.
