73 percent pass 10-class examination
Hyderabad, May 4 : In the 2006 Tenth class examinations written by 11,94,539 students, 73.16 per cent had passed as against the 73.16 per cent last year.
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Primary Education N Rajya Lakshmi releasing the results said here that the pass percentage was 0.12 per cent less than last year. Of the 3,00,131 private students, 42.9 percent had passed the examination, she added.
Ms Rajya Lakshmi said 41 Government schools against 15 last year had achieved hundred per cent pass. Likewise 1547 Government run schools achieved hundred per cent against 1001 institutions last year.
Girls, who fared better than boys in the intermediate examinations, lagged behind boys by 0.16 per cent in the regular batch.
