Uma Bharti resigns from Assembly
New Delhi, May 3: Ms Uma Bharti, who founded 'Bharatiya Janshakti' following her expulsion from the BJP, today resigned her membership of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
''The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, who represented Bada-Malehra in the Assembly, submitted her resignation letter to Speaker Ishwardas Rohani'', her close associate and former Union Minister Prahlad Patel said.
It is a coincidence that Ms Bharti celebrates her 48th birthday today. She had floated the new political party at the temple town Ujjain on April 30.
After her expulsion from BJP in November last year, she remained an unattached member in the Assembly.
